Looks amazing ; Fabulous production values ; Memorable and varied single-player campaign ; Excellent new close-in and large-scale multiplayer modes ; Special Ops cleverly extends the story

Annoyingly eager to steer you towards microtransactions ; Short single-player campaign ; Story sometimes courts controversy too much ; Spec Ops missions occasionally leave you reliant on others’ competence.

Another year, another CoD. But this one, inspired by 2007’s game, is a bit special. Certainly the best Call of Duty game for a good few years.
