Samsung Replenish

There's something about a green phone that really tugs at the heartstrings, but over the years Sprint has been determined to yank as hard on those cords as possible. Recyclable handsets like the Samsung Restore, Samsung Reclaim, and LG Remarq took...

Samsung Replenish - onyx black (Boost Mobile) review

The Samsung Replenish joins Boost Mobile's network as its most affordable Android phone. Originally released for Sprint last spring, Boost's Replenish has Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a portrait QWERTY keyboard to complement its touch screen, and Mobile...

The Samsung Replenish has Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a QWERTY keyboard, and a surprisingly decent 2-megapixel camera.

There's no Flash support in the browser, and the Replenish feels a bit cheap and cramped. In addition, the processor is a little laggy.

Keep in mind that the Samsung Replenish is an entry-level smartphone, and you may enjoy the Android handset's QWERTY keyboard and camera. If it's quick browsing you're after, keep looking.

Samsung Replenish (Boost Mobile)

The Samsung Replenish will work if you're seeking an eco-friendly, keyboarded smartphone on Boost, but there are better options available.

Good voice quality. Solid QWERTY keyboard. Eco-friendly. Excellent monthly rates.

Dim, fuzzy display. Low-end specs. Poor camera. Short battery life.

The Replenish runs Android 2.3.6 "Gingerbread," and Samsung has done very little to modify it. You won’t find any TouchWiz UI extensions here, and there's very little in the way of bloatware or preinstalled apps, aside from Mobile ID. Mobile ID allows...

Samsung Replenish (Sprint)

The Samsung Replenish is Sprint's first eco-friendly Android smartphone, but it has few redeeming qualities otherwise.

Solid voice quality. Comfortable QWERTY keyboard. Plenty of green cred.

Dim, fuzzy plastic screen. Sluggish. Poor battery life. Subpar camera. Function buttons feel cheap.

Camera, Green Cred, and Conclusions The 2-megapixel camera has no auto-focus or flash capability. For such a low-resolution sensor, test photos looked okay, with reasonable sharpness and color balance both indoors and out. Tree leaves and other distant...

Samsung Replenish review

Just as we were suspecting that the environmentally aware phase of cell phone construction had waned, Sprint announced the Samsung Replenish, its first eco-friendly Android phone after the rush of the LG Remarq , Samsung Restore , and Samsung Reclaim .

The Samsung Replenish has a tactile QWERTY keyboard, a surprisingly decent camera, and a wallet-friendly price. Made from recycled and recyclable material, it's also easier on the planet.

The lack of Flash support in the browser limits the Replenish, and its build feels a little cheap. Both virtual and physical keyboards can feel cramped, and call quality could be better.

With a price tag of just $50, the Samsung Replenish offers good value as a basic, easy-to-use Android phone, and one that's environmentally conscious to boot.

Samsung Replenish

Environmentally friendly, "green" phones started popping up about two years ago, with the debut of the Samsung Blue Earth and Sony Ericsson GreenHeart feature phones in the summer of 2009. Initially I thought the idea was a bit of a gimmick. But here...

Sprint ID Green Pack offers neat apps and widgets ; Ecofriendly design and features

Buggy performance ; Below-average camera

Although you might feel like a better person for buying an ecofriendly phone, the Replenish's specs and features are largely underwhelming.

Samsung Replenish Review

When it comes to technology, there's no arguing that cell phone manufacturers are at the cutting edge, but there are still very few that are mindful about being eco-friendly in terms of production and distribution. So far, Sprint seems to be one of the...

Samsung Replenish Review by Sydney

What's Good: Excellent physical keyboard; professional-looking design; good processor performance, not much lag; good battery life; eco-friendly.

Excellent physical keyboard; professional-looking design; good processor performance, not much lag; good battery life; eco-friendly

Cheap, plastic build; mediocre camera; inconsistent data speeds

The Replenish is definitely a great option if you're looking for a mid-range smartphone with a physical keyboard on Sprint or if you're a long-time BlackBerry user trying to make the switch to Android while still staying in familiar territory. The...

Samsung Replenish Reviewed: Green Gimmickry?

The Samsung Replenish is an eco-friendly smartphone aimed at the entry level market, available through Sprint in the U.S. market. Powered by a 600 MHz processor and preloaded with Android 2.2, the Replenish doesn't have the most amazing of...

Overall the Samsung Replenish is a disappointing release into the entry level market from Samsung and easily ranks in as a 'Below Average' smartphone. The small screen, sub-par keyboard, lag, freezing and low quality camera make the Replenish a...

Review: Samsung Replenish

Samsung offers yet another Earth-friendly handset for the Sprint network, this time in the shape of a monoblock Android QWERTY smartphone. The Replenish should renew your faith in the power of recycled materials.
