Relatively inexpensive; excellent recording quality in XP and SP modes; simultaneous recording and playback with DVD-RAM; MP3 CD playback.

No IR blaster for cable or satellite control; soft recording quality in EP mode; no FireWire input.

The least-expensive DVD recorder on the market lacks some key add-ons, but it performs its basic tasks well.

Panasonic does it right again

 

So I've had this recorder for over a year and a half. I use it every day to record for later viewing and archiving when I want to keep it. It records to hard drive flawlessly and archives to DVD +/- R, 99% of the time. Sometimes if the video has been...

Good menu navigation, 99% dependable dubbing, 100% hard drive recording and scheduling.

The newer models have firewire input.

I purchased my Panasonic DMR-E50K (black model) in July of 2004. I don't no why some people are having problems recording to certain brand of Disc's. I've used Office Depot, HP, JVC, Memorex, Phillips DVD-R & all were recorded successfully! All my DVD ...

Records on almost any "popular" brand DVD-R Disc. LP recordings are 640x480 size like SP!

Can't change the chapter settings from 5 mins. Premature cooling fan failures!
