The thing only lasted a year before the laser array needs replacing -- $400 to fix. No thanks. Worked great -- while it worked. I will never buy this brand again. Shame

When working, it's good

Short shelf life; annoying idiosyncracies like having to change the name of the disc title before finalising a disc or it won't do it

I haven't had a full play with all the features, but from a quick look i'd highly recommend this recorder. I bought it at $575 from the GoodGuys in SA (it was on discount). Bye bye VCR...

Easy set up and understanding of menu ; Very good quality when taping from foxtel>NDH using svideo cable on SQ quality

Time Recordings require the NEC to be shut off (though i'd say this exists in every VCR/DVD recorder

"Best I've ever seen"

 

This just knocks the ball out of the park. It's really easy to use for dubbing, playing, editing. But the best thing is it's REALLY compatible with other disc formats (some brands which claim to be fully compatible still struggle and aren't really). Oh...

This DVD recorder has been a great buy! I think we paid around $350 for it and it has been a great investment. We record the kids tv shows on there and we don't have to store heaps of VHS tapes anymore. I actually read alot of reviews on it before...

Has an easy menu system, etc. Plays all types of dvds. The hard drive stores HEAPS of stuff. Very easy to put our MiniDV recordings onto DVD too.

It has the same menu function / remote as an LG dvd recorder my work used to have. We had all sorts of probs with that machine, so i was a bit worried at first. But apart from that, there's no cons i can think of.
