Lenovo ThinkPad X130e laptop

School kids probably won't go crazy for the X130e, but it's a solid little laptop with a can-do attitude

Sturdy build ; Good keyboard ; Matte screen

Touchpad not great ; Lid can be hard to open ; Core i3 and 4GB RAM not standard

The ThinkPad X130e is a tough little laptop that's been designed for the education sector. It's comfortable to type on, possesses good battery life and has enough power under the hood for multi-tasking and running typical productivity applications....

Lenovo ThinkPad X130e

The Lenovo ThinkPad X130e is a semi-rugged netbook, outfitted with enough padding to survive the day-to-day dings of traveling across campus or running from terminal A to B.

Semi-rugged exterior will stand up to backpack bumps. Full-sized, comfortable keyboard. Bluetooth. AMD E-300 APU offers good everyday processing and graphics performance. Integrated hard drive accelerometer.

Clickpad can be a little finicky.

Review Lenovo ThinkPad X130e Notebook

Laptop for Students. The new Lenovo X130e is designed for students who need a reliable notebook with long battery life. ThinkPad is famous for their amazing build quality, but their models are also known to have a few weak points. So read our in-depth...

Excellent workmanship, Long battery life, Matte display, Low power consumption, Great input devices, Fair price, Despite the low price, the small X130e is still high-quality and robust like its bigger siblings of the ThinkPad family

Restricted performance, Backlight is too weak, No USB 3.0, Cooler fan always running, Please Lenovo: give the notebook a brighter display! With its current brightness, the laptop is not easy to use outdoors

Lenovo ThinkPad X130e

Matte screen. Decent battery life. Will likely survive a small hurricane.

Touch pad can be finnicky. Bulky. Lenovo aesthetics as always will be polarising.

For a rugged, throw-around portable laptop, the X130e fills a role. Fashion aside, the only real irksome point is the touch pad. If you're a ThinkPad lover, you'll likely enjoy using it.

Test Lenovo ThinkPad X130e Notebook

Studentenfutter.

Exzellente Verarbeitung; +Lange Akkulaufzeit; +Mattes Display; +Geringe Leistungsaufnahme; +Gute Eingabegeräte; +Fairer Preis

Eingeschränkte Leistungsfähigkeit; -Zu schwache Hintergrundbeleuchtung; -Kein USB 3.0; -Nahezu dauerhaft aktiver Lüfter

Lenovo X130e

Did not ship from newegg

None.

I ordered this expecting the quality service I have always received from newegg. I paid extra fro quicker delivery and received my thinkpad in just 3 business days. However it was DOA with no working graphics and just a white screen on boot up. It also...

Not much to look at, but gets the job done

EDIT: For those who may be concerned by the condition of the unit I described, I just received a second order that is night and day different. It is actually a X131e with Core i3 processor, and is in nearly pristine condition. If they were all like...

Received a unit with an i3 CPU at no extra cost, it's a working laptop for less cash than the Win 7 Pro license would have cost by itself, battery is in decent shape (5-6 hours with light use).

I was a bit worried about ordering a "Grade B" laptop. It certainly has the scratches and scuffs that entails, but it is also missing two of the rubber feet on the bottom, the Thinkpad logo is missing from the lid, one of screws on the bottom cover was...
