ANOTHER ACER MONSTER

 

Being a Web Designer I try to anticipate my clients website needs based on future visual upgrades in the internet market. I usually build on a static point at minimum of 1280X800 Resolution for all my web sites.

This is my 2nd purchase of an ACER laptop. I've owned almost every other brand and Acer has always been better in all areas. From performance to price point. I'd like to put this in the midrange laptop price category based on it's size and it's price...

1 small detail - Get rid of the silly Acer RA RA Programs and clean up that OS drive. But hey, Acer has to try to get more cash from their clients. Thats the nature of the beast. You get a new car, they gotta try and sell you stuff for it. That's life

looks good, maybe hidden problems

 

the Vista performance index is a 5.0 which is decent, but i can't see it living up to the score. i will most likely return it, or take it apart and upgrade it. so far it isn't worth the money.

the computer is slick. very nice screen. it just looks cool. its lightning fast on most basic operations. and it seems to be a sturdy construction

So far, so good!

 

I bought this on Sunday March 1st. On Monday, Newegg dropped the price $50 (just my luck). So I complained and was shocked that Newegg said they would refund me the $50. I've purchased many items here, and have NEVER been let down.

Like the last review said, this screen is awesome! I installed an older RTS game, and it was great! Then I installed AutoCAD 2007 and good to go. Tonight I am going to attempt to install the wireless printing

I was expecting Vista to be awful, from everything I read. I am still getting used to it, but it's not all that bad. I don't care for all the added junk that you need to blow away first

Well-Worth Buy

 

This thing shipped at an incredibly fast rate. Even with the drawbacks I've mentioned, I'd still easily recommend this computer. I haven't had much of a chance to burn any DVDs or CDs yet with the disc drive.

This laptop has some of the best graphics I've seen for the price. The wide crystal-clear screen makes my old desktop look bad. The volume controls are located on the top of the laptop right beside the full-size keyboard in a touch-to-operate style....

The software this computer comes pre-installed with is fairly useless, and unless you like pointless child-like gaming, it's best to just uninstall. There's a lot of it though, so it takes about a half an hour just to remove. The surround sound on this...
