Months after the video card(nvidia gt540m) would start to overheat very quickly and cause BSOD's. Was forced to underclock the card to play any games at all, not very optimal. After 1 year the battery has gone caput as well, all rechargeable batteries...

Overall I would recommend it.

Affordable i5 processor based laptop. Not many laptops available under $600. Fast boot up. No major complaint to report. Happy overall. I use it for my college work

The arrow keys are very small. Overall keyboard layout is little awkward. Need time to get adjusted. Display back lighting is slightly uneven. This is noticeable when the screen is blank

It just plain works. If anything crazy happens in the future, I'll update my review. Lightning-fast processing and shipping from Newegg (they sent me a tracking number within hours of my order!), and everything shipped intact and undamaged.

Awesome Laptop!!!

 

Overall this is a great PC. My battery wouldnt fit perfectly snug, so i put a piece of packing foam in the battery compartment and that did the job.

Fast quad core i7 ; Mid grade nvidia GPU ; Runs very cool compaired to my other laptops, rarely does the fan spin up to 100 ; Pretty good battery life

Stock HDD is the weak point of this system. I replaced mine first thing. Acer had obviously opened the box after the first sealing, but they resealed with a new void/warranty sticker
