Nice and cheap

 

It is what it looks like. A $30 printer, don't expect photo quality printing but it works great for simple jobs.

Very inexpensive and I got free shipping. Perfect for my simple school printing

No black cartridge

 

HP shouldn't be so cheap and they should give you both a color and a black ink cartridge. Either that or they shouldn't have the ink software constantly complaining that you only have one cartridge installed.

Best Bang for the Buck!

 

25 bucks. If it lasts 6 months; it will owe me nothing. Color printing is better than I expected or desired. I'm blown away at the quality of this printer for the price I paid

It didn't come with a black cartridge. I don't know if that's normal. It also didn't come with rubber stickers or "feet," so it slides around a bit. That wasn't hard to remedy, and again, for 25 bucks

Decent Printer - Linux Compatable

 

I used this to print out papers for college, it's worked great for me. I use linux and setting it up for my operating system was a breeze. Definately worth the price.

It can be a little slow coming somtimes, but it gets the job done.

Great value in an HP printer

 

If you print under GNU/Linux, be sure to use your package manager to install the 'HP Toolkit' from HP. All the printer settings, ink level monitor and more are included in this software.

As previously posted, this printer is a simple install in both Fedora 8 and Ubuntu 8.04 GNU/Linux distros and prints perfectly. Printing with the Deskjet is quick & quiet compared to the trusty old Epson C60 it replaced.

OK Printer

 

If I had to do it over again, I'd have spent a little more and got an Epson. My other computer at home is hooked up to one, and I get over 300 pages per black ink cartridge.

NO BLACK CARTRIDGE!

 

It's one thing to not include a printer cable (which has been common practice forever), but it's BS to not include both cartridges. I'd rather had none than just color and no black. HP is taunts you for being a fool!

It probably prints.

This printer does NOT include the black ink cartridge. The only reason I bought a new printer is because it was cheaper than buying new cartridges for a printer that hasn't been used for over a year. Defeats the purpose of saving money if the darn...
