Canon's tech support replied to my e-mail within 24-hours.

This is my second Canon imageCLASS and the first one has been great. The D480 seems to be a really good value (after rebate) for a network printer than can both print and scan double sided

My unit included a 'starter' tone cartridge. Not sure how many pages I'll get, but I was hoping for a full cartridge like my older imageCLASS printer ; The included software can scan over USB but does not support scanning over the network. The printer...

Still waiting to see what life of the toner is like. Canon rates the cartridge at 2500 pages.

Fast printing, extremely quick to awake out of sleep mode. Duplex printing is extremely helpful. Menu structure is somewhat intuitive and easy to navigate. Scan quality is acceptable and fax transmission is what I would expect for a 33.6 modem...

Setup was a bit unfortunate for me, it defaults faxes printing to memory and scans to the network by default instead of to the USB connection. Not a big issue as it was quickly remedied by adjusting the printer settings

If Faxing is a priority, do not purchase

Good machine for price

 

We purchased this to replace a Brother DCP8045D which had been very good to us but eventually broke. So far we are just as happy with this machine which cost less and is not as big. It also starts copying a lot faster than the Brother.
