Great Little Printer

 

I bought this as a backup my brother color printer. Even though it is not wireless, I was able to share it using my network.

Cheap got it on sale. It works great. No problems so far ; I bought Rosewill cartridges which makes it even more economical to run

A little noisy, but aren't all printers

No USB cable!

 

It is almost like selling a car without the battery. Imagine someone delivered new car to your home. You get in, turn the key and... no battery. You need an extra trip to an auto store to buy one before you could start using your car. Same thing with...

Decent quality prints

This is outrageous that the printer comes in a form that makes it unusable. You just can't print if you do not have a spare USB cable. In my case it means another day, at least, before I start printing

Great value for the price

 

After looking around for a replacement for our ten year old Brother HL-1220 with the rapidly failing print drum, I settled on this one. The new printer doesn't cost much more than a new drum for the old one. The resolution is much better, it's quieter...

Great lazer printer for a small home office

 

I bought this printer for my home office to replace an inkjet printer that was costing me a fortune in replacement ink. The price was great and the toner cartridges are a great price too. Much cheaper than all the other printers

Great Laser Printer

 

Newegg's Shipping is lightning fast got it 2 days before I expected it!

1)Ez to set up ; 2)Prints Fast ; 3)The price is right especially if you need a basic laser without paying for alot of useless features

Brother is excellent

 

The unit has a small footprint, is very light, not too loud and super fast. The cost of the printer is almost the same as the cost of toner cartridges!

Low cost, modest noise, super fast printing, never jams, uses any paper I feed it flawlessly

None really except OK it wont do double sided without printing odd pages flipping them over and feeding them back in the tray to print even pages

Nice to know Carts used

 

I don't own this printer but I'm sure it's as good as the other Brothers I own ; BTW - It uses TN-420 and TN-450 carts. Nice to Know

brother sucks

 

This was once a great company and for them to make such a POJ is very disappointing

company sucks

This is not for this printer but after buying 2140 it will be a long long time before I purchase another Brother product, it died after two toner cartridges and 1 drum flashing light with no help form website or docs to fix problem

better choices available

 

I have seen no reason given from Brother for releasing this model. Why was it needed? For about $10 more, you can get a commercial workgroup printer rather than this personal printer. I would MUCH rather see Brother stick with 3-4 models made very well...

Uses the same toner cartridge as many other Brother printers. I have installed two of these for customers and encountered no problems. Brother makes very good laser printers

There is no need for this printer model. It is unproven and has no quality, price, or size advantage. The models HL-2240D and HL-2270DW have great reputations so no reason to buy this new unproven model

Which toner cartridge?

 

Newegg should list the respective ink cartridges information for each of their printer offerings on the 'details' page! Ink cost is an important consideration for all printers under consideration by a potential buyer.

The HL-2220 uses the TN420 Standard Yield Black Toner cartridge and the DR420 drum unit
