Fitbit Charge 2

Fitbit Charge 2 long-term review: The Charge 2 improves over the original and adds customisability.

Interchangeable bands ; Large display for at-a-glance information ; Comfortable to wear ; Consistent tracking ; Cardio Fitness score is a useful metric ; 5-day battery life ; Updated with Sleep Stages and Sleep Insights

No GPS (GPS Connected mode requires your smartphone) ; Gesture recognition is ropey ; Basic notifications

Over the years, I’ve worn a whole raft of Fitbit trackers and so have seen many of the changes that the app has undergone. One area the company should be applauded for is updating its app with new features and improving the interface. It’s really...

The Fitbit Charge 2's upgrades are incremental, but necessary

The Fitbit Charge 2 brings some much-needed updates to the popular Charge HR. It can now track your distance by tapping your phone's GPS for more accurate pace info and will automatically detect that you're working out after 15 minutes. It also has new...

Bigger display ; Long-lasting battery ; Continuous heart rate tracking ; Automatic workout detection

Unwieldy guided breathing implementation ; Bland design

Fitbit's Charge line was in serious need of an update, and it finally has a decent offering in the Charge 2. The new heart-rate and activity tracker brings important tools such as auto exercise tracking and GPS connectivity, which are good enough that...

Fitbit Charge 2 review: a promising fitness tracker, plagued by bugs

People really love their Fitbits. This is evidenced by sales numbers alone: Fitbit sells more activity trackers than anyone else. Anecdotally, Fitbits abound: walk through any airport, hike any...

Bigger display ; Multisport mode ; Intuitive app ; Week-long battery life

Inaccurate distance tracking ; No pause function ; Not waterproof

Fitbit Charge 2 review

Lots of things track steps now. Tons of trackers and watches -- and even phones -- do a good enough job.

Swappable bands. A multi-line OLED display that can show time and fitness data. Always-on heart rate. A great companion app. Affordable price. Five-day battery life.

Not water-resistant for swims or showers. Lacks GPS. Phone notifications on the Charge 2 display are limited and hard to read.

If you don't need water resistance and GPS, the Fitbit Charge 2 is the best overall fitness tracker you can buy.

Fitbit Charge 2

The Fitbit Charge 2 does everything the Fitbit Charge HR can, along with new idle alerts, automatic activity tracking, guided breathing sessions, interchangeable bands, and the option to connect your phone for GPS.

Large display. Built-in continuous heart rate monitor. Automatically tracks activities, calories, distance, steps, stairs, and sleep. Delivers idle alerts. Relax mode leads deep-breathing exercises. Supports interval training. Interchangeable bands.

Somewhat faint screen. Attracts fingerprints. Not waterproof. No GPS.

Conclusions The Fitbit Charge 2 does everything our previous Editors' Choice, the Fitbit Charge HR can, while adding a larger display, guided breathing exercises, idle alerts, interval training, and interchangeable bands. You don't get built-in GPS...

Fitbit Charge 2 review

An all-rounder activity tracker that wants to take charge of your healthy lifestyle

Won’t put a massive dent in your wallet ; Straightforward UI anyone can understand ; FitBit app still the best for fitness freshmen

Can be too simple for its own good ; Where’s the waterproofing? ; No on-board GPS tracking

A no-nonsense middle ground between smartwatch and fitness tracker, but even with new additions there’s not enough here for fitness freaks

Fitbit Charge 2 review: Taking charge

The Fitbit Charge HR was the fitness tracker to beat in 2015. It wasn't only one of the best from the company - which also makes the Surge, Blaze and Alta - but one of the best dedicated trackers with heart-rate monitoring from any manufacturer....

Premium design, larger display, accurate step and sleep tracking, interchangeable straps, extensive features, great battery life, fantastic app interface

No waterproofing, smartphone notifications could be smarter, some data could be easier to find on app,

There's a lot to love about the Charge 2. It takes the best features from the Fitbit Charge HR and Alta, while adding a few more including VO2 Max and Guided Breathing. It also takes on Fitbit's new design ethos with interchangeable straps, solid build...

JBL Charge 2 review

Great audio and device charging? This Bluetooth speaker is big on perks

Great sound quality ; Ample battery life ; Charges devices ; Speakerphone capability

Bulky ; Slow to connect

With bonus features like device charging and speakerphone, the relatively compact JBL Charge 2 impresses as one of the best Bluetooth speakers we've come across.

Fitbit Charge 2 review: The best £100 fitness wearable

Heart-rate monitoring and five-day battery life in a top-notch package — and the price is very reasonable, too

5-day battery life ; Comfy to wear ; Easy to use

No built-in GPS ; No ANT+ support

The Fitbit Charge 2 gets a lot right. You want a simple, hassle-free and long-lasting wearable? Then the Charge 2 ticks all the boxes. The lack of in-built GPS and compatibility with external ANT+ sensors might push some people towards pricier rivals...
