Price (obviously), To update hardware you must do it through the Alienware website...it typically takes a longer time for them to update on their (over 3 months in some cases)

I've owned one since release and my at the time computer knowledge was quite limited though I knew enough to want to get into the higher end computer market. I didn't at the time know enough about higher end computer hardware to comfortably do a DIY...

The screen is very good. The keyboard is also very good. The computer's CPU and GPUs can be really good if you're willing to spend the money on the upgrades. A jack of all trades in terms of general and home entertainment. Fun to overclock CPU/GPUs

Obviously the price, I paid 5k for an upgraded model. For the money your aren't getting a proportionally better system relative to a DIY build. For me it ends up acting like a desktop anyway, I don't use the native keyboard, mouse,speakers or screen
