alaTest has developed technology that calculates a global and objective product quality rating called the alaScore™ to unify the test criteria and rating scales between review sources. The alaScore™ enables easier cross-service product comparison for consumers.

The alaScore™ is calculated based on high volumes of expert and user reviews from across the web. The verdict of experts, average ratings, reliability of the source, level of expertise and product age are some of the factors taken into account when calculating the alaScore™. Each product is also compared to similar products in its category to obtain a relative product quality score which is refreshed daily with content from new reviews.

Although based on a complex algorithm, the alaScore™ provides a simple rating scale, ranging from 0 to 100 that supports a quick and simple comparison of similar products. The higher the alaTest™ score, the higher the overall perceived quality of the product.
